Research Areas

My research is grounded in art history and visual culture, with a focus on the internal logic of artistic production and its interaction with region, culture, and nature. My earlier work concentrated on the historical development of Western art and the interpretation of visual symbols, and later expanded into cross-cultural semiotic analysis. In particular, I am interested in the representation of natural imagery in Eastern and Western landscape painting, as well as the cultural cognition and cosmological perspectives embodied in such representations. Drawing on semiotics and visual semantics, my research examines the deeper connections between art and contemporary cultural practice.

In recent years, my work has extended into the fields of cultural communication and applied research, with particular attention to the creative transformation of ecological landscapes, cultural tourism, and intangible cultural heritage resources. Specific areas of interest include the integration of traditional concepts of nature with modern ecological consciousness, the construction of landscape narratives in cultural tourism projects, and the visual transformation of intangible heritage symbols into sustainable markers of local cultural identity. Through practice-based projects, I continue to explore the vitality of art within broader social contexts.

Overall, my research moves from history to contemporary reality, and from theory to practice. Bringing together global perspectives and local experience, I seek to build connections among cultural symbols, regional ecology, and modern forms of communication—examining not only how art is shaped by context, but also how art actively shapes the world.
